This is nothing I never thought I’d be saying! But after the toughest and best months of my life recently, after being made redundant from AM Design when the business decided to ceased trading, and I decided to become a freelance website designer and photographer in the Helston, Cornwall area.
But now I’m my own boss, I can do what I like instead of working the standard 9 till 5. I decided I would do something that I never thought I’d be doing, applying to university – despite having zero qualifications and dropping out of Helston School early.
I’m passionate about photography so I decided to follow my passion and apply to Falmouth University studying Marine and Natural History Photography BA(Hons). Despite when I finally made my mind up, I missed the UCAS deadline; I phoned up the university and asked if there is still room to apply – they confirmed that I could still apply, so I worked hard on getting my application sorted.
I got amazing help with my application from family and friends, especially Andrew Wallis and Vanessa Glossop. Who I can’t thank enough for helping me through the process. You guys are heroes!
A few weeks later after I applied, attended the interview and completed the conditional offer terms. I officially got accepted into Falmouth University studying Marine and Natural History Photography BA(Hons). I can’t explain how excited I am, I can’t wait to start attending in September 2019!
What does this mean to this business? Nothing! Despite I’ll be working hard with the 3 years of university work, I will still maintain building websites, providing website hosting and taking photographs. I won’t be neglecting anything, so please don’t think that’s the end of the business – I’ll be attending the university alongside running this business. Don’t worry.
